FAQs about Making a Gift

Your Contributions Make a Big Difference

As a donor to HCI Care Services, you may sometimes wonder exactly where your dollar is going or how it is allocated.  Whenever a donation is received by HCI Care Services, it is immediately sent to HCI Foundation.

The Foundation was established in 1986 to support HCI Care Services.  It does so by cultivating, soliciting, managing and providing funds to maintain, improve and advance services to our community.

Below are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.

May I make a contribution to a specific program of HCI Care Services?
Yes.  HCI Care Services has specific programs your gift can be restricted to which include Quality of Life (basic family needs, patient wish fulfillment, family resource materials and activities) and Staff and Volunteer Education.  Please indicate which program to which the contribution is to be applied in the memo portion of your check.  Call us to discuss further details on specific programs and how your contribution may help.

How do I make a memorial contribution?
Please write the name of the deceased person in the memo portion of the check.

May I make a contribution directly to HCI Care Services staff members?
All donations should be made to the HCI Foundation. Staff members are not allowed to accept compensation from patients, or the families or friends of patients for their services.

Will the family be notified?
Yes.  We send a letter to the designated person, which includes a list of the names and addresses of those who have made a contribution, in memory of a loved one.  The donation amounts are not divulged.

Do I need to supply the name and address of the family member to be notified on my donation?
That depends. If the contribution is in memory of a patient cared for by HCI Care Services, the answer is "no."  We'll have the family information on file.  However, if you want the notification sent to a family member other than the primary caregiver, please supply this name and address with your donation.

If the contribution is in memory of someone other than a patient cared for by HCI Care Services, the answer is "yes."  Please supply the complete name and address of the person who should be notified and enclose with your donation.

Will I receive a thank you letter?
Yes. All contributions are recognized with a letter of appreciation.

Do you require a minimum donation?
No. HCI Foundation accepts and appreciates donations in any amount.

Do I need a form or contribution envelope in order to make a donation?
