Quality End-of-Life Care for Individuals with Dementia

Reviews hospice appropriateness for patients with dementia. Defines dementia and describes pharmacological and non-pharmacological symptom management.

  • Identify the disease processes involved in causing dementia
  • Define dementia, and describe approaches to effectively managing its symptoms
  • Discuss end-of-life care for individuals with dementia and benefits of hospice services

Accreditation

Certificates of attendance will be provided for health care professionals who attend the entire program.

In accordance with the Iowa Board of Nursing, this program may be offered for 0.1 CEUs for nurses.

This program is appropriate for continued education. For Iowa licensed health care professionals, it is up to the discretion of the licensee to choose relevant programs.
