Nursing Facilities and Hospice - A Team Approach to Quality Patient Care

Recognizes how health care providers and hospice staff share a common goal of quality care for patients. Discusses strategies to improve communication, coordinate care and promote teamwork.
  • Compare nursing facility care and Hospice care with respect to goals, care focus, treatments and outcomes
  • Describe potential areas of conflict due to the differences in care philosophies and outcomes
  • Examine the goals of an alliance between nursing facilities and hospice
  • List strategies to improve communication and quality end-of-life care for patients and their families hospice care with respect to goals, care focus, treatments and outcomes

Accreditation

Certificates of attendance will be provided for health care professionals who attend the entire program.

In accordance with the Iowa Board of Nursing, this program may be offered for 0.1 CEUs for nurses.

This program is appropriate for continued education. For Iowa licensed health care professionals, it is up to the discretion of the licensee to choose relevant programs.
