Non-Cancer Diagnosis Referrals

Examines non-cancer diagnoses in response to current hospice statistics which indicate a shift away from cancer as the dominant condition and a move toward a mix between cancer and non-cancer diagnoses. 

  • Describe hospice benefit periods
  • Identify key indicators for admission to hospice for non-cancer diagnosis referrals
  • Examine selected non-cancer disease processes and criteria to determine eligibility

Accreditation

Certificates of attendance will be provided for health care professionals who attend the entire program.

In accordance with the Iowa Board of Nursing, this program may be offered for 0.1 CEUs for nurses.

This program is appropriate for continued education. For Iowa licensed health care professionals, it is up to the discretion of the licensee to choose relevant programs.
