Discusses opportunities to manage the personal characteristics, the influence of society and the health care system as well as organizational and work environments that can contribute to stress and burnout.
- Define the terms stress, distress, compassion, compassion fatigue and burnout
- Identify factors that contribute to workplace distress and its impact on health and performance
- Recognize your personal stress points that could lead to job dissatisfaction and burnout
- Describe practical strategies to increase caregiver resilience and decrease the effects of job stress
Certificates of attendance will be provided for health care professionals who attend the entire program.
In accordance with the Iowa Board of Nursing, this program may be offered for 0.1 CEUs for nurses.
This program is appropriate for continued education. For Iowa licensed health care professionals, it is up to the discretion of the licensee to choose relevant programs.
