Caring for Persons with Advanced Heart Disease
Enhances knowledge about advanced heart disease and ways to adjust personal cares to ease symptoms, conserve energy and provide quality of life for persons with terminal heart disease.
- Discuss the prevalence and the costs of caring for persons with heart disease
- Explore the trajectory of heart disease and the difficulties of predicting a prognosis
- Describe the common symptoms experienced by persons with advanced heart failure
- Review the benefits of palliative care and common treatments for end-stage heart failure
Certificates of attendance will be provided for health care professionals who attend the entire program.
In accordance with the Iowa Board of Nursing, this program may be offered for 0.1 CEUs for nurses.
This program is appropriate for continued education. For Iowa licensed health care professionals, it is up to the discretion of the licensee to choose relevant programs.
