Centerville resident Brian Hargrave recently accepted the full-time role of executive director of hospice with HCI Hospice Care Services. Hargrave has been serving as interim executive director of hospice with the non-profit organization since last spring while continuing to serve as team director for HCI Hospice Care Services in Centerville.

“I’m so pleased that Brian has accepted the position,” said Tray Wade, president and CEO of HCI Care Services and Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa. “He brings such a well-rounded perspective to the role, and he has already demonstrated such great leadership for the hospice program and bereavement programs.”

In his newly accepted role, Hargrave will provide leadership for all the organization’s hospice and bereavement support operations, growth of hospice services and clinical quality. Hargrave joined the organization in 2011. Prior to his leadership roles, he served on the Centerville team as spiritual care counselor and bereavement counselor. Hargrave brings a background in community service and leadership to his new role. He is active with the Centerville Rotary Group and has previously served on the boards for the Appanoose County Baseball Association, Drake Public Library and Hope Pregnancy Center. Hargrave also has 16 years of pastoral experience in Iowa.
